Whenever you buy something new online, you will probably look at some reviews of the item before you make your purchase. Online reviews are great for lots of reasons – and they can even influence the product you buy.
The same applies when you have a children’s watch to buy. After all if you are buying online you have a few pictures and a description to go by. These can be all you need on some occasions but it is nice to be able to read what other buyers thought of a watch when they actually received it.
The important thing to remember is that not everyone will have the same opinion of the same watch. So you need to be careful to look for two different things when reading reviews. The first aspect of a review covers the actual workings of the watch – does it work properly, does it keep good time, does it serve the purpose they bought it for, and so on. The second aspect covers what you might call the personal element of the watch. One particular design might appeal to one person and be a complete turn off for the next one. This is just personal opinion so you need to be able to distinguish the two.
For instance one person might say that the watch they bought works perfectly and is ideal for the child they bought it for. But they might add that they personally didn’t like the design. In this situation you may well still buy it.
But suppose you read a review of a child’s watch which stated that it kept stopping? If it was only one review picked out from lots of good ones it wouldn’t be a problem – it would clearly point to a defective watch. But if every review said the same thing you wouldn’t buy it would you?
This just goes to show how important it is to read online reviews before you buy any child’s watch. They can help you make that all important decision and get the opinions of parents as well as perhaps the children themselves, if the parents give any clues as to what they thought.
So if you are considering buying a child’s watch for a special occasion or as a gift, make sure you read some of the reviews first. They might influence the decision you make.
